MC KIdd History
MC has always been naturally empathic, intuitive, and in touch with animals and instinctively acted on their behalf. Although she didn’t own a horse until she was an adult, she spent time with horses every chance she could before then.
After many years in her twenties working in the dental field, MC profoundly realized three things:

In 2000, while working on a ranch with more than thirty sport horses for almost a year, she dedicated herself to learning all she could about the many aspects of caring for horses, in addition to attending classes offered by Equinology, Inc.
MC fed, groomed, and hand-walked horses; cleaned their stalls and paddocks; wrapped many wounds; gave inter-muscular injections; administered medications orally; and helped many horses who had pigeon fever. She was also being coached and trained in many different riding techniques in the saddle at that time. |
Education & Certifications
|
In 2001, MC completed and passed all the requirements necessary to become a certified Equine Body Worker (EBW). The same year she also took Equinology’s Advanced Equine Massage Techniques, Level I, course and then completed Equinology’s Understanding Equine Nutrition course in 2007 to further her skills and education. Extremely independently motivated on her educational journey, MC is constantly reading and learning other about other amazing teachers, practitioners, techniques, and technology, and she spends dedicated time to incorporating lessons learned into her knowledge base and counseling sessions.
After many years working with a quickly increasing client base and having many successes, MC’s comprehension of what, in her opinion, “holds horses back” evolved, and she became even more dedicated to help horses unravel their physiological roadblocks. The relationship between the mind, muscles, and the spine fascinates MC and compelled her to attend Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM) and Veterinary Myofascial Release (VMR) education, techniques, and technology courses. Established by a veterinarian and animal orthopedic surgeon, VOM and VMR techniques and technologies address the neuromuscular relationship between the brain, restricted connective tissues (including, and especially, the muscles) that surround the bones, and most importantly, the spine. In 2006, MC passed all course requirements to become a certified VOM and VMR technician (chiropractitioner). She invested in buying the advanced therapeutic equipment taught in these courses to approach neuromusculoskeletal restriction, and she became quickly versed in the many extensive and incredibly effective ways of using this equipment. |
Although the VOM and VMR approaches address the same issues and concerns, these techniques and technologies are NOT to be confused as chiropractics, which is manual muscular manipulation. MC is NOT an equine chiropractor.
Clinics & Seminars and on the job experience
Throughout the years, MC has organized and taught clinics, and she been asked to speak at many seminars, including veterinarian clinic events, regarding the understanding of holistic equine care, especially for the horse’s “engines” - the muscles. Being an athlete herself, MC grew up regularly skiing and playing tennis and golf; she was also on a swim team for eight years. Most importantly, in her twenties she became very involved with cycling and participated in many “centuries” (riding one hundred miles in one day). For fun and training, she often bicycled from Sacramento to San Francisco or Napa. This experience as an athlete has given MC a unique perspective, as she is able to put herself in a performance horse’s “shoes.” She understands what it takes to be able to give your all - and also the pressure it puts on both the mind and body to do so.

"MC says it has been her work with many hundreds of horses during thousands of sessions that has taught her the most about what these amazing creatures need." |
MC believes that is imperative to be able to recover quickly and at a cellular level - to reduce the amount of excess stress, as well as toxins, in the body.
In addition to her education and personal life experiences, MC says it has been her work with many hundreds of horses during thousands of sessions that has taught her the most about what these amazing creatures need. Touching them; silently communicating with their bodies; massaging their muscles, fascia, and other connective tissues deeply, in many areas to the bones; massaging tendons both superficially and also as part of deep multi-layer work: all this has given MC an education about how the parts of the equine body interact, whether they are in pain or a state of dysfunction, how they got that way, and how to get them to respond to particular improvement methods. This experience cannot just be taught from reading a book, listening to a teacher, or being in a classroom.

dogs too!MC has also worked with countless dogs, some of whom were referred to her from veterinarians and others brought to her by owners who were desperate for a life-saving solution.
Although her main specialty is the equine form and function, it has been proven to her that canines can also benefit from an organic, clean, chemical-free lifestyle, as well as logical and therapeutic “function follows form” intervention. |
struggles and triumphs
In 2010, MC suffered a catastrophic toxic exposure that brought on a severe illness that not only abruptly ended her career but also threatened her life. If not for her holistic approach, education, and fierce determination to “walk the walk” (or more like “climb the climb”), she would without a doubt not be here today. She understands extreme silent suffering much more than she did before and is now “back in the saddle,” more determined than ever to offer solutions to avoid, reduce, and eliminate the silent suffering of the captive horse.
The same year she became ill, MC started writing a book, titled Einstein: The Special Relativity of Love. The book is currently being edited, and MC hopes to publish it within a year or two. |
